- Sample :
Full scale- Brief anthropological analysis :
- Type 1 : Dark complexion (black eyes, black hair, tanned skin, ...), more or less leptomorphic, arched and large nose, close-set eyes, full lips
~ Armenoid

This type resembles the European Dinarid, with the main exceptions of greater absolute facial dimensions and a larger nose : such type is quite prevalent in Armenia. Amore brachymorphic variant can be found as well.

- Type 2 : Dark complexion (black eyes, black hair, ...), brachymorphic, coarse features, large face, little and puffy nose, full lips, wide eyebrows, wide-set eyes
~ Alpinoid

Old anthropology would have labelled those individuals as "Asiatic Alpinoid", a generic term to describe extra-European Alpinoid types even though that term is not useless to denote some peculiar aspects such as very rounded features, full lips, little eyelids, ...
- Final morphotypes :
It's an interesting sample because it has many affinities with different other regional populations.
ReplyDeleteThese are IMO: West Asians, SW Europeans and NE Europeans ("Russians).
The most typical NE European (Russian-like) looks may be b1 (totally "Putin's cousin"), b8, c2...
Among the SW-Euro-looking, a1 specially but also a4 and to lesser extent a few others look 'Basque' to me. Some others have 'Iberian' looks but not sure if this means Iberian of Neolithic immigrant origin or something older. The best example here is probably a7.
Among the West Asian looking types the most typical is the Armenoid, naturally (after all this is Armenia, right?): a2, a3, b2, c3. This type could also be described as "Dinarid with hooked nose" or vice-versa.
The other type would indeed be Alpinid, with a8 (which looks Ashkenazi or Tunisian), c1 (Turkish vibe)...
Curiously some individuals look a lot like Western or SW people but with some subtle differences in the eyes area, specially the eyebrows, which tend to be thicker in the Caucasus. Examples are d8, c5 and even b4. C4 also, even if I said before he looks somewhat "Basque".
Other interesting faces are d1 (Arabid or Armenoid but from a more southern clade), d4 with a typically Syrian face and a6 that reminds me a lot to this great French actress (what's her name) and who I don't think as "Alpinid" at all.
Très intéressant. Ma première réaction a été de voir une certaine transition vers l'europe et le moyen-orient. De plus, il y a des gens que je considère qui ont une certaines proximité avec le Liban et l'Iran. Le liban ça se comprend plus, je crois...
